Demo submissions guidelines

At Angelfin Records, we’re not here for quick hits or standalone singles. We believe music is more than just sound—it’s a reflection of your vision, your message, and your soul. That’s why we focus on collections of work, not isolated tracks.

Think of it as a gallery of sound, where each piece contributes to a larger narrative. We want music that conveys meaning, tells a story, and captures the essence of who you are as an artist. If you’re ready to share your artistry with the world through a cohesive body of work, submit to Angelfin Records below and we will be in touch.

All demo links should be private and unreleased original pieces of work.

Description on why you created these tracks, what the theme is and what they mean to you. Think about artists album releases and the themes they went through to create a piece of work. Below are examples of well know albums and the theme that the artist was trying to convey.

Moby – Play (1999)

Theme: Human Connection and Spiritual Reflection

Play explores themes of loneliness, spirituality, and the shared human experience. Moby blends house and electronic music with gospel, blues, and folk samples, creating an emotional narrative about vulnerability and resilience. Tracks like “Natural Blues” and “Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?” evoke a sense of longing and introspection, making the album feel deeply personal yet universally relatable.

Daft Punk – Discovery (2001)

Theme: Nostalgia and Musical Exploration

Discovery is a concept album celebrating the joy of music and the magic of discovery. It leans heavily into themes of nostalgia, channeling childhood memories of discovering music for the first time. The album draws from 1970s and 1980s disco and funk, blending these influences with futuristic electronic sounds. The tracks explore emotions tied to growth, love, and wonder, and the album’s animated visuals (from Interstella 5555) reinforce a fantastical journey into sound and storytelling.

Pink Floyd – The Wall (1979)

Theme: Isolation and Emotional Walls

The Wall tells the story of a character named Pink who gradually isolates himself from society, building a metaphorical “wall” around himself due to trauma, loss, and alienation. This rock opera explores themes of abandonment, mental health struggles, and the desire for human connection, with each track contributing to the overarching narrative.

Kendrick Lamar – good kid, m.A.A.d city (2012)

Theme: Coming of Age and Urban Struggles

Often described as a “short film by Kendrick Lamar,” this album narrates the story of a young man navigating life in Compton. It reflects on themes of peer pressure, gang violence, love, faith, and self-identity. Through vivid storytelling and lyrical mastery, Kendrick offers a deeply personal and universal look at the challenges of growing up in a tough urban environment.

Taylor Swift – 1989 (2014)

Theme: Reinvention and Self-Discovery

1989 is a pop album that represents Taylor Swift’s reinvention, transitioning from country to pop. It explores themes of self-discovery, independence, and personal growth. Tracks like “Shake It Off” reflect resilience and empowerment, while others like “Style” and “Blank Space” delve into the complexities of modern relationships.
